Dr. Brian F. King is a board-certified rheumatologist and internal medicine physician that is known for combining advanced diagnostic expertise with a thoughtful, patient-centered approach to care. He completed his undergraduate studies in philosophy and history at the University of Georgia Honors College, graduating as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, before earning his medical degree through the Augusta University and University of Georgia medical partnership. He went on to complete his internal medicine residency at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, where he was recognized as Intern of the Year as well as Senior Resident Teacher of the Year and selected as Chief Resident. He completed his rheumatology fellowship at the University of Virginia, where he received first place at the state rheumatology meeting for a case presentation on VEXAS syndrome and also contributed to several published case reports.
Additionally, Dr. King is certified in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound (RhMSUS) and integrates ultrasound into patient visits to enhance diagnostic accuracy, guide procedures, and improve treatment decisions in real time. His clinical experience also encompasses his time as a hospitalist and providing comprehensive rheumatology care with an outpatient practice in Cape Cod. He prides himself on taking the time to listen, explain diagnoses clearly, and most importantly partner with his patients in developing their individualized treatment plans.
Outside of work, Dr. King enjoys life with his wife and son, spending time outdoors hiking, camping, and fly fishing, and experimenting in the kitchen - especially with baking sourdough.
